Teen arrested after fatal shooting at Arlington park

A teenager has been arrested after a fatal shooting at an Arlington park.

Cristian Gonzalez, 17, faces a murder charge in the slaying of 21-year-old Felix Rios.

Officers responded to the shooting about 12:15 p.m Sunday in the 2200 block of Greenway Street, near Helen Wessler Park. They were told a wounded man had been dropped off at a hospital.

Rios died at the hospital, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Detectives believe that the shooting stemmed from a disturbance early Sunday at a Grand Prairie home, and that Gonzalez and Rios agreed to meet at the park later in the day to fight. When Rios arrived, Gonzalez opened fire on him, police said.

Gonzalez’s bail had not been set, and it was unclear whether he had an attorney.
