Suspect in custody after man found slain at Cedar Hill home

A man is in custody after a slaying at a Cedar Hill home on Tuesday morning.

Police were called about 8:20 a.m. to perform a welfare check in the 1800 block of Tar Road.

When officers arrived, they found a resident of the home dead. Police did not release the man’s name or say how he was killed.

Police said the investigation led them to identify another of the home’s residents as a suspect, and 36-year-old Kenneth Morris was later taken into custody in Ennis.

Morris faces a murder charge. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.

No further details about the case were available. Anyone with information may contact Detective William Huston at 972-291-5181, ext. 2177.
