3 teenagers taken into custody after police chase from Dallas to Parker County

Three men wanted by Dallas police in connection with an aggravated robbery were taken into custody Saturday afternoon after a chase that started in Dallas and ended in Parker County, authorities said.

Dallas police began pursuing the three after they fled in a car that they’d reportedly stolen, the Parker County Sheriff’s Office said in a post on Facebook.

As the pursuit continued into Parker County, deputies from the Erath and Parker County sheriff’s offices were notified and joined the chase, the post said.

The men crashed at the 397 mile marker of eastbound Interstate 20, near FM 1189, and fled on foot south toward Brock, Texas, the sheriff’s office said.

Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said around 11:30 a.m. that the men were considered armed and dangerous and that the public should stay indoors until they were captured.

The three were caught about an hour later after residents spotted them walking on Olive Branch Road. They were taken into custody without further incident, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspects were identified as 19-year-old Kert Jerome Parker Jr. of Mesquite and 19-year-old Takirus Davon Jones of Duncanville. The third suspect was identified by the Parker County Sheriff’s Office as 18-year-old Antquins DeWayen Johnson of Mesquite, though his name could not be confirmed with public records.

Parker and Johnson were both charged with evading arrest or detention. Jones was arrested on charges out of Dallas County of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Their bail amounts had not yet been set as of Saturday evening, the sheriff’s office said. It’s unclear whether any of the three have attorneys.

Details about the aggravated robbery in which they were initially sought for weren’t immediately available.

The sheriff’s office said that the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Rangers, Weatherford Police, Hudson Oaks Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and game wardens with Texas Parks and Wildlife were also involved in the manhunt. Some of those agencies are expected to file additional charges against the trio, the sheriff’s office said.
