Man sexually assaulted woman in aisle of Pleasant Grove gas station, Dallas police say

A 22-year-old man is behind bars after Dallas police say he sexually assaulted a woman at a Pleasant Grove gas station last week.

Roel Perea Perez faces one count of sexual assault. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Just before 10:45 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a call at the Sunoco in the 9500 block of C.F. Hawn Freeway, at South St. Augustine Drive, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit.

The woman told police she had first seen Perea at another gas station across the street attempting to get her attention. She was unaware that he followed her into the Sunoco, the affidavit says.

While she was walking down an aisle, Perea grabbed her sleeve. She said he showed her a message on his phone that read, “Come with me, I want sex for money,” according to the affidavit.

The woman said Perea grabbed at the leg opening of her shorts twice, managing to sexually assault her one of the times, the affidavit says.

The incident was captured on the store’s surveillance video, according to the affidavit.

Perea was being held at the Dallas County jail Friday, with bail set at $50,000.
