8-year-old killed in multi-vehicle crash on I-20, Grand Prairie police say

An 8-year-old child died and three people were injured after three vehicles collided into slower traffic Saturday morning on Interstate 20, Grand Prairie police said.

The three vehicles — two SUVs and a car — were traveling westbound on I-20 about 9 a.m. when they crashed near Belt Line Road, police said.

The drivers of the SUVs and an 8-year-old passenger were taken to hospitals. The child, whom police have not identified, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The conditions of the two drivers were unknown. The third driver had minor injuries and was treated by first responders at the crash site.

Police said no charges were expected to be filed in the crash.
