Warm and muggy ahead of cold front

June begins today in similar fashion to the way May ended – warm, breezy, and humid with a high in the 90s. However, there’s a big weather change around the corner with a cold front set to arrive tonight. This front will bring showers and thunderstorms to North Texas along with cooler weather for Thursday.

The highest chance of rain will be after midnight tonight and into Thursday morning. Clouds may linger for much of the day Thursday, holding temperatures in the low 80s for the high. As for the severe weather risk, it appears low. There’s a slight risk for hail and damaging wind gusts. Rain totals will average close to 0.25-0.50″ for most locations.

Hot weather will rebuild for the weekend with highs in the mid to upper 90s by Sunday.
