Plano volunteers needed for ‘green’ storm drain labeling project

Live Green in Plano is seeking volunteers for a storm drain labeling project in the city.

The project aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting creek water quality and guarding against storm water pollution.

Whenever anything other than water flows into a storm drain, it is a pollutant, Live Green in Plano said in an announcement. Water that flows into the storm drain goes directly into city creeks and is untreated.

The labels help remind people to not dump anything into the storm drains.

Steps to get involved

Here’s how you can participate:

After the online registration form is received and processed, volunteers will receive an email with labeling instructions and supply pickup details.

The project is not eligible for court-ordered community service hours.
