More rain on the way Tuesday as deep moisture stays in place

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Grab your umbrella! We will see another round of heavy downpours and thunderstorms on Tuesday.

The plume of deep tropical moisture that arrived on Monday stays in place. Combine that with an upper level storm system in west Texas and some areas will be in for a good soaking Tuesday afternoon. Similar to Monday, scattered showers will turn more widespread during the afternoon. Heavy rain could lead to isolated street flooding.

How do rain chances look through the week?

Rain chances remain on the higher side through Tuesday but will drop down a bit for the second half of the week as the deeper moisture moves out. We will head to a more normal summertime pattern starting Wednesday with scattered storms possible.

Do we have a risk of flooding this week?

It is possible we could see some street flooding in the first half of the week as a big plume of tropical moisture sits over SE Texas.

What’s the latest on what’s happening in the tropics?

There are four areas of potential development that we are monitoring. For the very latest check out our daily tropical update.
