Allen ISD hosts event to let public hear from district on budget, security, other topics

Allen community members will get to hear from school district leaders during the first ever Eagle Engagement Night from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Ereckson Middle School, 450 Tatum Drive.

Sessions at the conference-style event will include topics such as budgets and taxes, special education, safety and security and the 1:1 technology program. There will be eight topics to choose from and attendees will be able to visit a total of three sessions during the free event.

Individual sessions begin at 6:30 p.m., 7:10 p.m., and 7:50 p.m. for the following topics:

  • Session 1: School Finance 101: How is Allen ISD funded, and How Does it Affect My Taxes?
  • Session 2: Safety and Security: Our Top Priority
  • Session 3: The Allen ISD Board Academy
  • Session 4: What Happens During A Campus Renovation: Interactive Tour
  • Session 5: Hello, Xello! A Parent Walk-Through of the New College & Career Software
  • Session 6: The Student Code of Conduct: Everything Parents Need to Know
  • Session 7: An Overview of Special Education in Allen ISD
  • Session 8: Empowering Learners of All Ages with the 1:1 Technology Program
