Man arrested, accused of fatal stabbing early Tuesday in Crowley, police say

A man was taken into custody and is facing a murder charge in connection with a fatal stabbing earlier this week in Crowley, police said.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to a stabbing in the 300 block of South Magnolia Street, police said in a news release. Authorities found a man who had been stabbed. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police said a 38-year-old man was arrested at the location in connection with the stabbing.

Both men are from Crowley, a city in Tarrant County located 16 miles south of Fort Worth, police said.

“This was an isolated incident, and there was no immediate threat to the public,” the release stated.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram report identified the victim as 39-year-old Brian Calvery.

William Lawrence, 38, was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing, the report stated.

Lawrence is facing a murder charge, and his bail is $75,000 according to online jail records. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
