Divers recover body of teenager in Lewisville Lake after responding to drowning call

Authorities recovered the body of a teenager Wednesday after responding to a drowning call at Lewisville Lake earlier that afternoon.

The call came in to 911 about 5:30 p.m. from the public swim area at Lewisville’s Lake Park, according to city spokesman Matt Martucci. The Lewisville Fire Department’s dive team was searching the water for the teenager, Martucci said.

A little after 8 p.m., Martucci said the dive team recovered the body of a 17-year-old Hispanic boy from the lake. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office will identify him, he said.

According to Martucci, the game warden from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is now in charge of the investigation.

In early July, three people drowned in Lewisville Lake, according to the TPWD.
