Rain showers return Sunday. Could be stormy on Monday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — We’ll have a cool and quiet night for Friday Night Football or any outdoor activities.

How does the weather look this weekend?

Saturday looks delightful at this time, with pleasant temperatures in the 70s and lots of sunshine breaking through high clouds. A weather system passing to our north on Sunday will lift a warm front overhead, pushing clouds and rain showers through Southeast Texas. We are still predicting a 40% chance for rain on Sunday for the afternoon and especially the evening hours. Temperatures will again be in a seasonal range with lows in the 50s and highs in the mid 70s. This weather system is expected to bring an additional chance for thunderstorms on Monday, some of which could be strong. Clouds are expected to linger into Tuesday with a cold wind, but it will likely be dry.

Does Thanksgiving still look cool and sunny?

Yes! Assuming the next rainy weather system clears out on schedule, we should get really nice weather to follow for Thanksgiving Day. At this time, we are predicting sunshine with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s, but given that Thanksgiving is still about a week away, much is subject to change. We’ll keep you posted if the outlook changes in any appreciable way!
