34-year-old man dies after assault in Far North Dallas, police say

A 34-year-old man died last week after he was assaulted in Far North Dallas, police say.

On Dec. 14 about 11:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 17600 block of Addison Road, near Trinity Mills Road, where they found Gregory Nunn had been assaulted.

Nunn was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries, police said.

According to police, 25-year-old Daymon Lamar Payton turned himself into authorities Dec. 15 in connection with the attack.

Payton, who faces a murder charge, was transferred from the Dallas County jail to the Collin County jail Friday. His bail was set at $500,000, and it was unclear whether he had an attorney.

No additional information was immediately available.
