Track Santa’s trip to Dallas-Fort Worth

Santa runs a tight operation. He has to in order to deliver 60,000 tons worth of toys annually in time for Christmas morning.

While Santa’s making his list – and checking it twice – North Texans can check in on his progress at the North Pole in his toy factory. And on Christmas Eve, Dallas-Fort Worth residents will be able to keep up with Kris Kringle and his fleet of flying reindeer as they make their way across the metroplex.

You can watch Santa’s progress around the globe below.

NORAD Santa Tracker

The tradition of keeping tabs on one of the holiday’s biggest stars began in 1955 with the North American Aerospace Defense Command. In the years since, NORAD has tracked his flight around the world with their Santa tracker using about 1,250 volunteers.

During the rest of the year when they’re not investigating Claus’s whereabouts, NORAD protects the air sovereignty of North America, providing advance warning of missile and air attacks, among other duties.

You can also call NORAD’s Santa Operations Center starting at 4 a.m. MST on Christmas Eve to get an update on his exact location. Just dial 1-877 HI NORAD (446-6723) to reach a staffer or, if you prefer email, send a message to noradtrackssanta@outlook.com.

Here’s hoping for a safe and speedy journey for Santa and his sleigh.
