Mechanic facing charge and civil suit for allegedly assaulting customer: ‘He did not hold back’

In Houston, Texas, a man is seeking over $1 million in damages following an incident at a car repair shop where the owner allegedly pointed a gun at him, struck him in the back of the head with it, and hurled racial slurs at him during the encounter.

Earl Morris recounted that on January 31, while on his way to work, his car encountered an obstruction on the road. He subsequently had it towed to Enzo Car Care on Richmond Avenue, as advised by the tow truck operator, and informed his insurance company before authorizing any repairs.

Upon returning to retrieve his vehicle later that day, Morris described encountering issues with the shop’s owner, Mazen Al Kassar.

According to Morris, Al Kassar demanded additional payment and became confrontational when Morris suggested involving the insurance company to resolve the matter.

Morris alleged that Al Kassar then brandished a firearm and struck him in the back of the head as he attempted to leave the premises.

Following the incident, Morris contacted the police, who responded to the scene and reviewed surveillance footage.

Subsequently, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office pressed charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against Al Kassar.

Morris also initiated a civil lawsuit against him, citing physical and psychological trauma, as well as allegations of racial slurs being directed at him during the altercation.

Efforts to reach Al Kassar’s legal representative for comment were unsuccessful.
