Students evacuated at Valley West Elementary School on Thursday due to bomb threat, officials say

Valley West Elementary School evacuated its students and staff on Thursday following a bomb threat, as reported by the school administration.

Principal Samantha Woods issued a phone call to parents, alerting them of the situation around 2 p.m.

Houston Independent School District police promptly responded to the threat and evacuated all students for a thorough investigation.

Fortunately, authorities found no immediate danger, and students were cleared to return to the building safely.

Details regarding the origin of the threat were not disclosed by officials.

Houston ISD has not provided a statement regarding the incident at this time.

The principal assured parents that regular dismissal procedures would be followed at the end of the day.

This occurrence comes shortly after reports of threats made to schools in League City, Texas, allegedly by two Wyoming teenagers who are currently on the run. Law enforcement agencies nationwide are actively searching for them.
