Texas Tech pitcher out for season due to an injury that left him in the hospital for almost two weeks

Brady Trombello, a pitcher for Texas Tech, will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a head injury during a workout when he was struck by a batted ball. The freshman, hailing from Ridgefield, Washington, spent nearly two weeks in the hospital receiving treatment before being transferred to a rehabilitation facility for further care.

Although the incident occurred on February 26th and required immediate surgery, Trombello is expected to fully recover, according to the school’s announcement on Friday.

Texas Tech arranged for Trombello’s parents to travel from Washington to be by his side during his hospital stay. Despite the challenges, Trombello has remained positive and has been actively engaging with friends and family, showing signs of progress in his recovery.

Prior to his injury, Trombello made his collegiate debut against Texas-Arlington on February 20th, pitching four scoreless innings and striking out four batters while allowing four hits.
