President George Bush Turnpike closed in Irving after fiery 18-wheeler crash

On Wednesday morning, the southbound lanes of the President George Bush Turnpike in Irving were shut down following a collision involving an 18-wheeler.

The accident, which occurred between MacArthur Boulevard and Gateway Drive on State Highway 161, involved a semi-truck and a trailer. Authorities reported that the semi caught fire during the incident, and as of 8 a.m., the flames were still burning, causing traffic delays for commuters.

All traffic is currently being directed to exit at Royal Lane, leading to significant delays in the area. The Texas Department of Public Safety and cleanup crews are expected to remain at the scene throughout the morning to manage the aftermath of the crash.
