Residents in Fort Bend County woke up to the aftermath of Friday’s intense storms, finding large hail on their doorsteps in the Needville area.

Lileana Pearson and her team surveyed the area, observing hail ranging from golf ball to baseball size, causing significant damage. Patios, furniture, and light bulbs bore the brunt of the heavy hail, with one resident comparing the sound to someone banging on her front door.

Numerous videos sent to the newsroom captured the moment the hail struck, showing cars being bombarded by circular-shaped ice, resulting in cracks and sidewalks being covered.

On that day, Weather Team declared a Weather Alert Day as storms swept into southeast Texas from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., when the alert expired.
