Reported burglary in Frisco leads to officer-involved shooting

The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently probing an officer-involved shooting that occurred during a reported burglary in progress in Frisco on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Frisco Police Department, officers were dispatched to an incident near Legacy Drive and Lakehill Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers encountered an armed suspect in the vicinity, resulting in the shooting.

Frisco Police confirmed to NBC 5 that no officers sustained injuries during the incident. The condition of the suspect remains undisclosed.

Authorities emphasized that the shooting was an isolated occurrence and assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.

“As this investigation is ongoing, Frisco police personnel will maintain a presence in the area for an extended duration,” officials stated.

The Texas Rangers have assumed control of the investigation. Residents are advised to steer clear of the area until the investigation concludes.
