Police investigating after man found shot to death in Dallas welfare check

Police are currently on the lookout for a gunman following a tragic incident where a man was discovered fatally wounded by gunfire outside a residence in a Dallas neighborhood overnight.

The Dallas Police Department received a call regarding a welfare check around 12:45 a.m., prompting officers to respond to the 1700 block of Mentor Avenue.

Upon arrival, law enforcement found 31-year-old Christopher Hawkins lying on the ground outside a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Despite efforts by medical personnel to save him, Hawkins succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Dallas Police’s SWAT Unit executed a search warrant at the residence but did not locate anyone inside, as reported by authorities.
