Person killed after suspect randomly opens fire in SW Houston, according to HPD

In Houston, Texas, authorities are on the lookout for a suspect captured on surveillance footage allegedly opening fire and injuring someone in southwest Houston.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Pradera Townhomes, specifically at the intersection of Club Creek and Woodfair Drive in the 9800 block.

According to Lt. Wilkins of the Houston Police Department, the incident took place shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, with the victim discovered shot multiple times in the torso.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage revealing a white sedan circling the area before shots were fired from the vehicle, resulting in the victim’s fatal injuries.

Upon examination of the crime scene, several pistol rounds were found scattered in the vicinity.

Authorities noted that the area where the shooting occurred is recognized for prostitution activities.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene, although the motive behind the shooting remains unknown at this time.

Investigators are working with the medical examiner’s office to identify the victim.
