Arrests made after more than 40 minors found drinking at house party in North Texas

A man and his son from North Texas stand accused of providing alcohol to more than three dozen teenagers after deputies discovered them drinking at a house party on Friday night.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6000 block of Berry Ridge Drive in Joshua following a report of minors drinking alcohol, gunfire, and marijuana smoking.

Upon arriving at the residence, deputies encountered the homeowner, 39-year-old Alejandro Vasquez, at the gate leading to the backyard.

After explaining the reason for their presence, Vasquez allegedly instructed them to leave his property and refused them entry to the backyard. Despite warnings about obstructing their investigation, Vasquez reportedly continued to interfere.

As deputies approached the backyard, they observed several teenagers fleeing by jumping over fences and discarding their alcohol. Vasquez’s purported lack of cooperation persisted as deputies attempted to conduct their investigation.

According to the sheriff’s office, over 40 underage individuals were found at the party, with more than 30 admitting to consuming alcohol and marijuana. Some of the teens were as young as 15 years old, and deputies discovered gun shell casings and alcohol on the premises.

While authorities notified the parents of the teenagers, both Vasquez and his adult son, Elijah Vasquez, were arrested and transported to jail. They were charged with purchasing or providing alcohol to minors.
