Woman dies after being struck in Arlington grocery store parking lot

A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, April 3, around 3:42 p.m., in the parking lot of a grocery store located in the 2300 block of SE Green Oaks Boulevard in Arlington, resulting in the death of a 62-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle, according to police reports.

Authorities state that a 2007 Ford F-150 was traveling south within the parking lot toward the store entrance when it stopped near the end of a row and then turned eastbound. During this turn, the vehicle collided with the woman, who had just exited the store and was walking into the parking lot.

The driver of the truck promptly halted and provided assistance to the injured woman. Arlington police have confirmed that the driver is not facing any criminal charges related to the incident.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. Police investigators have determined that speed and alcohol were not contributing factors in the crash.

The deceased individual will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin have been notified.
