Man shot multiple times while driving in Third Ward runs to nearby club for help, police say

Police in Houston’s Third Ward are actively searching for the individual responsible for shooting a man multiple times while he was driving overnight. The incident involves two separate scenes: the location where the man’s SUV was discovered with blood inside, and a nearby club.

Officers discovered the man’s silver Jaguar SUV crashed with front-end damage in the 2400 block of Arbor Street near Emancipation Avenue shortly after midnight. It’s believed the man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen, leg, and arm.

Despite his injuries, the victim managed to seek help at a nearby club. Upon arrival, officers administered first aid and applied a tourniquet until paramedics arrived. The victim was subsequently transported to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD).

HPD also noted that a second vehicle was struck by gunfire during the incident, and investigators recovered numerous shell casings at the scene.

Lieutenant J.P. Horelica provided a potential lead, mentioning an older-model white Cadillac as the only available information regarding a possible suspect at this time. He urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or the Houston Police Department.

Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the area as part of their ongoing investigation.
