SWAT team arrests murder suspect after standoff outside apartment in W. Harris Co., deputies say

Deputies reported that a murder suspect was apprehended by a SWAT team after barricading himself inside a west Harris County apartment complex on Wednesday.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office shared information about the SWAT operation at 6:14 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, an ongoing investigation led authorities to an apartment located at 2031 Westborough, near North Fry and Saums Road in Katy.

The individual, identified as Tilford Anthony Joseph, was sought in connection with charges of murder and aggravated assault of a peace officer. He barricaded himself inside one of the units within the apartment complex but was eventually taken into custody without further incident.

Although Sheriff Gonzalez did not provide details regarding the specific crime Joseph was wanted for, it was later revealed that he is suspected of being involved in the fatal shooting of a woman outside a gas station near the Texas Medical Center.
