The North Richland Hills Police Department has released details regarding the funeral arrangements for Assistant Police Chief Kevin Palmer, who tragically collapsed while on duty last week.

The community is invited to honor Palmer along the procession route on Thursday, May 9, starting at 9:30 a.m. The procession will commence from Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst and proceed south on Precinct Line Road, west on Bedford Euless Road, south on Melbourne Road, west on Pipeline Road, onto Glenview Drive, north on City Point Drive, east on Boulevard 26, and finally north on Davis Boulevard to Keystone Church in Southlake. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 a.m. and is reserved for family, friends, and fellow public safety personnel.

Following the service, Palmer will be interred at the I.O.O.F. Westlake Cemetery with full police honors.

Palmer, an esteemed Air Force veteran, joined the North Richland Hills Police Department in 2004 and steadily rose through the ranks, becoming Assistant Chief in July 2023. He was a recipient of over 40 police service awards, a graduate of the PERF – Senior Management Institute of Police, and the FBI National Academy.

Survived by his wife and two sons, Palmer’s contributions to the community and police department are deeply cherished. Mayor Oscar Trevino has ordered flags at city facilities to be flown at half-mast until the day of interment, honoring Palmer’s dedicated service and leadership.
