Strong storms possible in Houston this weekend

Strong storms could roll into the Houston area this weekend, with the greatest chance of severe weather starting Saturday afternoon.

Much of Southeast Texas is at a moderate risk of severe weather, the National Weather Service reports, with a greater risk in College Station, Livingston and areas north of those towns.

Isolated heavy rainfall is a risk, according to the National Weather Service, as are strong winds, hail and perhaps tornadoes.

The storms are expected to also increase the risk of strong rip current along Gulf Coast beaches this weekend and next week, the advisory states.
