Shootout in south Houston neighborhood leaves 2 injured, police say

Two people are in the hospital Tuesday after police said a pair of suspects shot at them in a Houston neighborhood. The victims returned fire, police said, but the suspects fled.

The shootout occurred in the 11000 block of Murr Way shortly before 9 p.m. Monday as the two victims were leaving a family member’s residence, police said.

As they were exiting, two suspects in a vehicle drove by and got out, police said. That’s when the suspects began firing, striking the two victims, Officer S. Todic said.

The victims returned fire, but it is unclear whether the suspects were struck before fleeing, she said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS
