Few showers today, more to come this week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Rain chances will dwindle through the morning Wednesday as the remnants of a thunderstorm complex push into the Gulf and fizzle out.

Less rain Wednesday afternoon as drier air blows in ahead of another disturbance that will bring a chance of widespread storms on Thursday.

We should see a reduction in the storms on Friday.

Chances for heavy thunderstorms will increase over the weekend as a large upper-level storm system blows over Texas.

The weekend storms could get heavy at times and drop 2-4″ over most of southeast Texas. Street flooding is most likely, but there could also be big rises on area bayous, creeks, and rivers. This storm system will loop back toward us early next week, keeping storm chances elevated for several days, so stay weather aware.
