Missing elderly man who was driving to Costco in Plano is found safe

Plano police are asking for the public’s help finding a missing elderly man.

Lionel Bening, 81, was last seen about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday leaving his home off of West 15th Street near Independence Parkway. He was headed to the Costco on U.S. Highway 75 and was driving a silver 2013 Ford Fusion with Texas license plate BMT-2082 that has minor damage to its right rear bumper.

Bening is described as 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a navy blue polo shirt, a blue jacket, dark pants and black shoes.
