18-wheeler crash causes miles of backups on eastbound I-10 in Baytown

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An overturned 18-wheeler Wednesday morning tied up traffic along I-10 East Freeway in Baytown.

It happened in the eastbound lanes near Spur 330 and Thompson Road.

It wasn’t clear what led to the crash or how long crews expected the cleanup to take.

At one point, eastbound traffic was backed up at least six miles from the site of the crash.

Traffic can detour via Beltway 8 to Highway 225 and Highway 146 or 99 to avoid the area.
