Amber Alert discontinued for missing 13-year-old Kiah Miller

The Texas Department of Public Safety officially has discontinued the Amber Alert for 13-year-old Kiah Miller, who was believed to have been kidnapped from her Montgomery home Tuesday.

It’s unclear whether the girl has been located. Texas DPS could not immediately release more details on the case Wednesday evening.

Investigators believe she may have been headed to Oklahoma with her grandmother based on information from the girl’s mother. The grandmother is from Oklahoma, and text messages discovered by police show the child talking to the grandmother right up to the time she left.

She was last seen Tuesday morning wearing a blue backpack, a red long-sleeve hoodie and black workout pants with red stripes.

The girl was reportedly staying with her father, who has sole custody and reported her missing around 8:45 a.m. Surveillance footage from a neighbor’s house showed a car that kept passing by the home around 4:45 a.m., police said.
