1 dead, another injured after fight ends in shooting in Fort Worth, police say

One man died and another was injured after shooting broke out during an altercation at a Fort Worth convenience store Tuesday morning, police said.

It happened around 1:50 a.m. at a store near Calmont Avenue and Las Vegas Trail when two men in separate cars got involved in a fight in the store’s parking lot, police said.

Shots were fired, and the driver of a Chevrolet station wagon was shot at least once in the head, police said. He tried to flee but crashed his vehicle into a tree and died later at an area hospital.

The other man, who was driving an Infiniti, fled before police arrived and was found later at a hospital with at least one gunshot wound that wasn’t considered life-threatening, police said.

The shootings are under investigation.
