Motorcyclist killed in possible hit-and-run crash in northwest Dallas, police say

A 40-year-old motorcyclist died early Saturday morning in northwest Dallas in a crash that police are investigating as a hit-and-run.

“Police said the accident occurred around 3:40 a.m. The victim, a man driving a Kawasaki motorcycle, was headed northbound in the 10500 block of Shady Trail, near Interstate 35E and Lombardy Lane, when he crashed. He was found lying on the west curb, and Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

Dallas police Sgt. Warren Mitchell, a department spokesman, said the crash is being investigated as failure to stop and render aid after evidence at the scene indicated the possible involvement of another vehicle.

Police said they had no other information about the victim.
