The boy’s father called police about 1 a.m. Sunday to the home in the 700 block of Donelson Drive, near Custer Road and Virginia Parkway.

Authorities had not released further details about the attack or what led to it. Because he is a juvenile the boy’s name will not be released.

He was taken into custody after he was found in the area during a search, police said.

“Our hearts go out to the victim’s family during this extremely difficult time,” McKinney police said in a written statement.
