Delays in brush and bulk trash collection expected for Oak Cliff

Dallas Sanitation Services announced Wednesday via NextDoor that they are experiencing a collection delay due to an increased volume, coronavirus impacts and the recent holidays. As a result, Oak Cliff residents are expected to see delays in their monthly collection of brush and bulky trash.

The department said crews are working extended hours to get back on the schedule. Residents can utilize the transfer stations or the McCommas Bluff landfill in the meantime.

The Southwest Transfer Station, located at 4610 S. Westmoreland Road, is the nearest station for Oak Cliff residents and operates between 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

There is no charge for Dallas residents in passenger cars, station wagons, pickups, and trailers less than 15 feet long hauling their own waste from their residences to the landfill or transfer station.
