43-year-old man faces murder charge in shooting death of 38-year-old woman, Carrollton police say

A 43-year-old man who previously served time in prison for murder was arrested Tuesday in the December shooting death of a 38-year-old woman in Carrollton, police said.

On Dec. 18, officers were called to the 3400 block of Country Square Drive in Carrollton, where a friend of Quashana Hobbs found her dead inside an apartment, police said. Hobbs died of a single gunshot to the head, police said.

An investigation led to the arrest of Kevion Ramon Wills of Waxahachie, who police said was one of Hobbs’ acquaintances. Wills faces a murder charge in Hobbs’ death, police said.

He was arrested in Waxahachie and faces a murder charge. He is being held at the Carrollton City Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.

Wills was previously convicted of murder in September 1997, according to Dallas County court records. He was released April 2019 on parole after serving more than 21 years of a 45-year sentence, according to court records.

In a 2017 letter to Judge Hector Garza, Wills said he attempted rehabilitation while in prison and wanted to better his community if he were to be released.
