Scattered showers and storms continue with a Flash Flood Watch for parts of SE Texas

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Moisture-rich air from the Gulf continues to flow in to Southeast Texas, bringing the clouds and rain along with it.

In Houston, we’re looking at mostly light rain, with heavier rain off to our south and west. Those are the areas where we have a Flash Flood Watch in effect, including Colorado, Wharton, Matagorda, and Jackson Counties through 7 pm Monday. Because the ground is saturated, even an inch of rain could cause some street flooding issues. Drivers should use caution over the next few days.

What can we expect to start off the work week?

Rain chances will not be done with us yet… A 70% chance of rain is in the forecast for Monday and a 60% chance is in for Tuesday. So you’ll want to make sure you have an umbrella for the start of the work week.

When will we dry out?
We will start to see rain chances drop as we head into midweek. We may have a couple of isolated showers in the afternoons for the second half of the work week, but most of us look to stay dry.
