Man fatally shot at Cedar Hill home, police say

A man was fatally shot in Cedar Hill on Thursday afternoon, authorities say.

Police and firefighters were called just before 1 p.m. to a home in the 1700 block of Stewart Street, near the Cedar Ridge Preserve, where a shooting had been reported.

A man lying in the driveway had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said. His name has not been released.

Police said they detained two people — a man believed to be the shooter and a man who drove the victim to the home.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting, which police said was the city’s first homicide of 2021.
