Get ready for a hotter, drier week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The last big rain maker for our area brought storms to our far northern areas Monday afternoon. With high pressure over northern Mexico pushing in our direction, it’s about to get drier and hotter.

As that high pressure builds over the area this week, rain chances will drop to 20% or less. Temperatures will soar to the lower and middle 90s with feels like temperatures eclipsing 100.

How much rain has your part of town received so far?

How much rain can we expect over the next 7 days?
On average, we’ll pick up less than a half inch. Much lower than what we had last week.

If there’s less rain, does that mean more heat?
Yes indeed, it’s getting toasty this week. High temperatures will reach the low 90s (on par with our normal highs this time of year), with the humidity bringing those feels-like temps to around 100 degrees.
