Forest Hill police fatally shoot man who they say stabbed woman to death outside convenience store

Forest Hill police fatally shot a man Wednesday morning after he reportedly stabbed a woman to death.

Police were called about 5:10 a.m. to the QuikTrip in the 6500 block of Wichita Street, just north of Interstate 20, where a stabbing had been reported in the parking lot. Officers began giving first aid to the female victim.

The suspect was located in a nearby creek, police said, and refused to drop his knife. Police said officers fired beanbags at the man after he began to harm himself.

Police said that the man turned toward an officer while holding the knife and that an officer then shot him.

The man and woman were taken to a hospital, where they both were pronounced dead. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified them as Kiyana Hall, 34, of Fort Worth and Michael Lee Ross Jr., 32, of Fort Worth.

Police said the Texas Rangers will investigate the shooting.
