Storms arrive with Monday’s cold front

Father’s Day was sunny, breezy, hot and humid. That is pretty typical of summer in Texas. And since the summer solstice occurs at 10:32 pm tonight, summer is officially here. But changes are coming to start the work week.

Monday will remain very warm with highs in the low 90s. But a summer cold front will move into North Texas late Monday afternoon bringing rain and storm chances with it, along with a drop in temperatures.

A few severe storms will be possible with a damaging wind threat. But most of us will just see garden variety summer thunderstorms. Behind the cold front, high temperatures Tuesday will actually drop into the 80s. But the cool down will be short-lived as we will be back in the 90s the rest of the week.
