Father of abducted baby arrested by deputies for outstanding warrant, authorities say

Parker County sheriff’s deputies have arrested the father of Miguel Ramirez, the 7-month-old boy who was abducted by his mother and her boyfriend Thursday morning and later found safe, according to authorities.

The mother, 20-year-old Faith Joann Reid, and her 25-year-old boyfriend, Marcus Allhoff Nast, kidnapped the child after they entered the home of his father, Joey Lee Ramirez, 21, without consent, Ennis police said. Nast held the baby’s father at gunpoint and threatened to shoot him, police said.

Police arrested Reid and found the baby Friday afternoon after an anonymous tipster reported a white Ford pickup truck matching the police description of the suspect vehicle.

Nast remains at large, according to the sheriff’s office. Anyone who knows his whereabouts is urged to contact authorities immediately, the office said, adding that he is considered armed and dangerous.

Reid was being held at the Parker County jail Saturday on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $300,000.

After Reid’s arrest, authorities learned that Ramirez had an outstanding warrant alleging family assault involving bodily injury in Ellis County, the Parker County Sheriff’s Office said.

Ramirez, whose bail was set at $2,500, was released from jail Friday evening after posting bond, the Parker County Sheriff’s Office said.

“As law enforcement officers, we could not ignore a family violence warrant,” Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said in a prepared statement. “As much as we wanted the reunion to take place, we were satisfied to place the baby in the temporary custody of family members.”

Anyone with information about Nast can submit an anonymous tip by at parkercountysheriff.net or by calling Parker County Crime Stoppers at 817-599-5555. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to Nast’s arrest.
