Grapevine Police Department is offering hiring bonuses for emergency dispatchers

The Grapevine Police Department is looking for emergency dispatchers, and is offering hiring incentives for those who answer the call.

The department will give $1,200 to new hires, the agency announced Friday in a press release.

Successful new hires will receive $600 upon offer, $300 after a successful completion of the initial probationary period and $300 after passing an evaluation after one year, according to the release.

“Telecommunicators are in great demand across North Texas, and as a designated first responder, it is critical to find the best women and men eager to serve the community and save lives,” the release said.

New full-time employees will also receive city benefits, including paid time off, insurance, tuition reimbursement, retirement and free membership to the city’s rec center.

“Anyone who can multitask, specifically listen over the phone while typing and sending out information, should apply for this highly-respected career,” the release said.
