1 person shot outside fitness center in Lake Highlands, Dallas police say

A person was shot outside a Lake Highlands fitness center Monday morning, Dallas police said.

Officers were called shortly after 11 a.m. to the scene near the LA Fitness in the 7200 block of Skillman Street, at Walnut Hill Lane.

Police said the victim, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital. His condition was not known.

Witnesses reported that a group of men was arguing before shots were fired.

The scene remained active until about 1 p.m., and police had placed more than a dozen evidence markers in the parking lot between the gym and neighboring businesses.

Police did not say whether any suspects had been arrested or identified.
