2 killed, 1 injured in west Oak Cliff gunfire exchange

Two people were killed and a third person was hospitalized early Saturday after a shooting in west Oak Cliff, Dallas police say.

Police said a 22-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, identified as Nancy Pahola Gomez Agustin, were sitting in a car around 3:10 a.m. at the Holiday Hills II Apartments in the 2400 block of Bahama Drive, near Hampton Road and Fort Worth Avenue, when another man drove up and caused “a disturbance.”

That man, identified as 27-year-old Rolando Benitez, shot Agustin, police said The 22-year-old man tried to defend her and exchanged gunfire with Benitez.

Agustin and Benitez were both pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The 22-year-old man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. His name has not been released.

No other information about the incident was made available. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
