Rain returns after an amazing weekend

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The atmosphere gives us an encore performance of amazing weather this weekend, but you’ll need your umbrellas for most of the work week ahead.

With a clear sky, dry air, and light winds in place overnight, temperatures will again drop into the upper 50s around sunrise Saturday. Abundant sunshine will again warm temperatures into the mid 80s.

How does Sunday look?
On Sunday deeper moisture pushes this way from the Gulf. You’ll notice clouds returning and higher humidity as temperatures warm from 62 to 87.

When will the rain chance return?
By Monday there could be scattered downpours as the deeper moisture arrives. An upper level low spinning west of Texas next week will boost the rain chance even more for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Is there anything of concern in the tropics?
At this time, no. Sam is expected to strengthen into a major hurricane and stay out in the Atlantic far away from the Gulf. Newly formed Teresa will also steer clear of the Gulf. You can get a full overview of the tropics on our tropical update page.
