Another round of thunderstorms could flood streets on Tuesday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Another round of heavy thunderstorms on Tuesday could drop a quick 1 to 3 inches of rain and localized street flooding.

Eyewitness News’ Live MegaDoppler13 radar should have a mostly dry sweep through the night as rain-cooled air stabilizes the atmosphere. Patchy fog is possible for the morning drive. Otherwise, it will be humid, with lows in the upper 60s and low 70s. Thunderstorms will redevelop once the sun comes out and warms up temperatures into the low 80s. That should start around the noon hour, and then additional showers and thunderstorms will bubble up through the afternoon. Localized street flooding, gusty winds up to 50 mph, small hail, and frequent lightning will all be possible in the strongest storms.

How much longer will this rainy weather pattern continue?

Just one more day! A weak front arriving Wednesday should push the deeper moisture far enough away to lower our rain chance to 20% or less for a few days.

Does the weekend look any better?

It does look like another weak cool front will move through Saturday to bring our next chance for showers and storms, but it shouldn’t be as widespread as what we saw this past weekend. If all goes according to plan, we should dry out Sunday and most of next week!
