20-year-old man faces murder charge in June slaying, Fort Worth police say

A 20-year-old man was arrested this week in the June slaying of a 19-year-old man in Fort Worth.

Xavier Wyatt was booked into the Tarrant County jail Thursday on one count of murder. It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney.

Police were called just before 6 p.m. June 24 to the scene of a shooting in the 9900 block of Lone Eagle Drive, near White Settlement Road and North Academy Boulevard. Officers found 19-year-old Gregorio Soriano shot, according to a police report, and the gunman had already fled.

Police said Soriano had two gunshot wounds to his torso. He died at a hospital, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

It was not clear how police connected Wyatt to the shooting. He remained in custody Saturday, with bail set at $150,000.
